SPECIFICATION

The ME100 Methane Ebullition Intelligent Device is designed for the observation of CH4 bubbling fluxes at the water-gas interface in aquatic ecosystems. Numerous studies have reported that methane bubbling fluxes in aquatic ecosystems account for up to 99 % of the total methane flux. The traditional manual inverted funnel method does not allow for high temporal resolution of CH4 bubbling concentration and volume changes in real time, and requires a lot of manpower to collect the gas manually. We have therefore developed an intelligent methane bubbling flux observation device based on the inverted funnel method, which is based on the principle of the inverted funnel method. The device allows for high temporal resolution observation of CH4 bubbling concentration and volume changes and is unattended, thus enabling accurate assessment of CH4 fluxes at the water-gas interface in aqueous ecosystems.
